Leadership Mississippi - The Delta

It is a true honor to be selected for the Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi Class of 2025. This year-long program offers an unparalleled opportunity to journey across our diverse state, engaging directly with elected officials, leading employers, dedicated citizens, and impactful organizations. Through these interactions, I'm gaining a comprehensive understanding of each region's unique culture, educational landscape, workforce dynamics, and community development initiatives. We're also delving into the critical areas of infrastructure achievements and needs. These collective experiences are culminating in a deeper appreciation for each region's long-term goals and pressing needs, ultimately revealing how they collectively shape the future of our entire state.

Recently, Leadership Mississippi had the privilege of visiting the Delta region, a truly distinctive area often overlooked. While there, we immersed ourselves in the rich history and vibrant culture of its agricultural system, explored the potential of heritage tourism, examined the manufacturing sector, and learned about ongoing community development efforts. And, of course, we savored some of the Delta's renowned cuisine! With its deep roots, the Delta has profoundly influenced contemporary American culture, making it a truly unique place. My participation in Leadership Mississippi and my collaboration with the Mississippi Economic Council have provided invaluable insights into the intricate interconnections between Mississippi's diverse regions. Our state's continued success and progress depend on how these regions work together and rely on one another.
